Find a Team

FIRST ® is an international organization that works to transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology leaders.

Many children and youth in the Victoria area have been part of FIRST teams.  Coaches can be parents, teachers, engineers, programmers, or anyone who wants to encourage kids to have fun with science.  There are school-based teams, community teams and teams for home learners.

Victoria Robotics Club encourages children, youth and adults to work together to form new teams.  If we know of a team looking for new members, we'll pass your information along to that team.  When there's enough interest to form a new team, we'll try to get everyone together and talk about how to form a team.  It's up to you to decide if it's the right team for you.

FIRST LEGO League (Grade 4-8)

FLL®  teams investigate, strategize, design, build, program and test robots to complete missions related to the topic chosen for the year.  The team members create a compelling research presentation which relates to a problem or opportunity facing the world today.   Once they have their robot and presentation ready, they compete with other teams in a high energy, sports-like tournament.

FIRST Tech Challenge (Grade 9-12)

FTC®  is for high school students to create remote controlled robots. At tournaments, robots designed by four teams compete on the same playing field. The teams form two alliances for the tournament match. An alliance partner in one match could be your opponent in the next match.
